Sharon Wegscheider-Cruse, an expert in the field of experiential therapy, founded Onsite in 1978. Her dynamic approach to healing emotional pain became the foundation for the spectrum of programs Onsite offers today.

What are the rooming arrangements?
Rooms contain two or three beds and clients will stay with one or two roommates. Each room has a private bathroom. Sheets, towels, and toiletries are provided.
Men and women will room separately with two exceptions:
In Coupleship Programs, each couple will have a private room.
In Family Programs, family members will room together.
There are no televisions or telephones in the rooms.
What kind of food is served during programs?
Your total program cost includes all meals from dinner following your arrival at the program site through breakfast on the final morning as well as snacks and beverages. All meals are well balanced, nutritious, varied, and tasty. Onsite promotes a well-balanced food selection and meals are served buffet style.
Food is not permitted in rooms, nor is food to be brought to the program site.
Regular coffee and tea will be available throughout the day.
What happens after I complete a program?
For participants who wish to continue their work once they leave Onsite, a written aftercare plan will be sent to your therapist upon your approval. Clients will leave with their aftercare plan in hand to implement and/or share with their therapist at home.
Will my insurance cover an Onsite program?
Onsite does not bill insurance. Clients are responsible for paying all program fees to Onsite.
Most likely, insurance companies will not reimburse clients who attend our programs for two reasons:
- The programs do not take place in a hospital setting,
- and/or Onsite does not generate a diagnosis for clients during a program.
Can I transfer or cancel my program after I register?
CANCELLATIONS and PROGRAM TRANSFERS
For Onsite Intensives
No refunds are given for any program if a participant does not attend, leaves the program early or is discharged from the program. If a cancellation occurs 21 or more days prior to a program start date, half of the program fee is non-refundable. If a cancellation occurs less than 21 days before the program’s start date, the entire amount will be non-refundable. Onsite Intensives are not transferable.
For Onsite Group Workshops
If a cancellation occurs 14 or more days prior to a program’s start date, the full amount, less a $500 processing fee per person, will be refunded. If a cancellation occurs less than 14 days before the program’s start date, the entire amount will be non-refundable. No refunds are given for any program if a participant does not attend, leaves the program early, or completes the program. Group workshop dates are transferable with a $100 transfer fee 14 or more days prior to a program’s start date.
For Onsite Adventures
No refunds are given for any adventure if a participant cancels, does not attend, leaves the program early, or is discharged from the program. If an OnsiteAdventures program is canceled due to weather restrictions, the program fee is non-refundable, and travel costs and/or other fees will not be reimbursed. Due to extreme weather conditions, there is potential for the trip’s schedule to be altered or ended early. If the program is shortened for any reason, all fees are non-refundable. All Onsite Adventures are not transferable. Trip insurance is highly recommended!

Members of the same family or close friends are not permitted to attend the same Living Centered Program.
Family members and close friends are allowed to attend other programs with clinical staff approval.
Are scholarships available?
The Onsite Foundation is a nonprofit that is a separate organization from Onsite. The Onsite Foundation provides trauma-informed counseling and emotional health education and services that transform individuals and communities. For more information on their programs and scholarships, you can visit their website at theonsitefoundation.org.
Do I need to be referred to Onsite by a therapist?
No. Although therapists refer about one half of our clients, anyone is welcome to register for a program. Many clients decide to attend a program based on recommendations from family members, friends, colleagues, etc., who have attended past programs.
Does Onsite need to communicate with my therapist?
For all programs, Onsite sends a letter to the clients’ therapist if a release of information section has been completed on the questionnaire. This letter asks for any pertinent information they may have about their client, including current medication, diagnosis, goals, etc.
What happens after my paperwork is sent to Onsite?
As soon as we receive a client’s paperwork, our clinical staff reviews it immediately. If a client is approved for the program, the program coordinator will contact them as soon as possible and advise them to make travel arrangements.
If a client is not approved, our clinical staff will contact the client by phone to advise them of the reasons for not being approved.
Who is responsible for my travel arrangements?
The client is responsible for making all travel arrangements. Information to help you arrange your own travel will also be included in your welcome package.
For all programs except the professional training institutes, we advise clients not to make their flight arrangements until after they have been approved by the clinical director upon review of their paperwork. If for some reason they are not approved for the program, Onsite offers NO refunds toward airline tickets they may have purchased. We want to be sure that our program will benefit them and meet their needs, because it is a large financial commitment on their part.

Yes, some of our Professional Institutes do provide credits toward your professional certification requirements. Please see the ISEP Certification page here.
What is Experiential Therapy
Experiential therapy is an action-oriented model of therapy that goes beyond what many “talk” therapies access. Trauma and pain are stored in the body and this modality creates opportunities for people to engage their bodies in the therapeutic process through a variety of active techniques. All of Onsite’s programs are group processes.
Who leads the program?
Onsite programs are supervised by our clinical team. The group leaders for each program are selected from a pool of approximately 60 therapists from across the country—all are Master’s level or above—who have been carefully selected and trained.
Is there a dress code?
Appropriate dress for Onsite includes comfortable, casual wear.
